Jurassic World sequel to film in the UK

The dust is still settling on the news that JA Bayona is due to direct the forthcoming untitled Jurassic World sequel, but a UK based production informer, The Knowledge, is now confirming that the blockbuster will in fact be filming in the UK, as earlier rumors had suggested.

The exact studio locations in the UK were Bayona and his team will be filming have not yet been announced, but Pinewood Studios seems a likely location. With it’s huge on-site soundstages, backlot, and production facilities, Pinewood is a perfect place to film your big budget films when not in Hollywood. Nearby Wales also offers beautiful vistas at outdoor locales.

Bayona has worked with UK crew and locations before – he was in the UK for A Monster Calls, which he directed in autumn 2014 with Liam Neeson, Sigourney Weaver and Felicity Jones. And Trevorrow has said that with the sequels we’re finally going to give the franchise a chance to get away from the isolation of the islands and really explore dinosaurs and man co-existing in the world. It’s possible that the UK may only be one of many destinations set for filming.

From Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures, Jurassic World 2 was written by Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow, with Patrick Crowley, Frank Marshall, and Steven Spielberg producing. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing. Filming is set to begin early 2017 and the release date is currently set for June 22nd, 2018 in the Unites States. Stay tuned for news as it happens!
